Yes, Jobright AI is legit. Jobright is a real Santa Clara, California company founded in 2023. It says it has raised $7.7M from investors that include Indeed's venture affiliate, and it publishes terms of service and a refund policy. It is not a scam. Users do report real problems, though: auto-renewing billing that is hard to cancel, stale or ghost listings, and AI resume tailoring that can add skills you do not have.
You found Jobright through an ad or a friend. The matches look promising, and now checkout wants your card. When you are already stretched by a job search, the last thing you need is a subscription you can't get out of. So before you pay, you want to know whether this is real.

Jobright is based in Santa Clara, California, and was founded in 2023. Tracxn lists Eric Yuan Cheng and Ethan Yudian Zheng as co-founders. The company says it has raised $7.7M in total: a $4.5M seed round led by Lanchi Ventures, then a $3.2M round in 2025 led by Translink Capital, with HR Tech Investments (Indeed's venture affiliate) taking part. Its Chrome autofill extension lists 300,000 users and a 4.9 rating, and the iOS app is rated 4.8. In our view, named investors and public legal pages are not what a scam looks like.
Can you trust Jobright's 4.8 Trustpilot rating?
Take it as a real signal, but not an independent one. Trustpilot shows 4.8 from roughly 3,400 reviews. Jobright claimed that profile in December 2025 under a paid Trustpilot subscription. Wobo, a competitor, reported that the review count went from about 230 in March 2026 to about 2,200 by July 2026. Many users are clearly happy. Still, the one-star reviews will tell you more about what can go wrong for you.
What do the complaints actually say?
- Billing and cancellation: reviewers describe a hard-to-find cancel button and slow, email-only support for billing issues. Wobo (a competitor) says 72% of one-star Trustpilot reviews are about billing and cancellation.
- Ghost or expired listings: some users report postings that were no longer open, and had to check the employer's careers page.
- Resume tailoring that invents things: independent reviewers, as reported by Wobo, found skills and metrics the user never had.
- Auto-apply that works more like assisted autofill than a hands-off agent.
None of these problems amounts to fraud. They are everyday product problems, and billing is the one that costs you money.
How much does Jobright cost, and can you get a refund?
There is a free tier with daily credits. According to OutApply, in May 2026 the paid Turbo plan cost $39.99 a month, $17.99 a week or $89.99 a quarter. Prices shown in the app vary by source and date. Jobright's Refund and Cancellation Policy (updated July 29, 2026) offers a full refund within 7 calendar days of the initial charge on a monthly, quarterly or 6-month plan. For weekly plans the window is 24 hours, and after an unintended renewal it is 3 days. Refunds are generally denied if the only reason is your job-search results or unhappiness with AI content.
The weekly plan works out to about $78 a month and has the shortest refund window. That makes it the riskiest way to try Jobright. If you do subscribe, find the cancel option before you need it, screenshot the confirmation when you cancel, and set a calendar reminder before the renewal date.
Is Jobright good for H-1B and OPT job seekers?
It can be useful, with one catch. The H1B filter is built from historical USCIS sponsorship data, so it shows companies that have sponsored before. That history does not confirm that a specific role will sponsor you, and a job can look like a strong match on skills and still be a dead end for a visa holder. Check sponsorship for each role yourself.
Who it is not for
Skip Jobright if you won't proofread every tailored resume. A metric you can't defend becomes a problem the moment an interviewer asks about it. It is also a poor fit if you want applications sent without any involvement from you, or if you are looking outside the US (the iOS app lists US roles only). And if you often forget about renewals, stay away from the weekly plan.
What should you do before paying for any AI job tool?
Confirm every posting on the employer's own careers page. Compare each AI edit against your original resume. Pay monthly, not weekly. The FTC says honest employers never ask you to pay to get a job.
