Resume wording
Two problems at once. As a verb it is a self-assessment nobody can verify, and on a resume it collides with Microsoft Excel, so an ATS keyword match may fire on the wrong meaning entirely.
These are not interchangeable. Picking the wrong one is how a bullet ends up claiming something you did not do, so the second column matters more than the first.
Before
Excel at building client relationships.
After
Grew a book of 22 accounts to 41 in 18 months, with 94% renewal.
The verb is the smaller half of that change. What actually makes the second version work is the number, and no synonym can supply one for you.
Keep "Excel" the noun, always capitalised, in your skills section. The collision is the reason to be deliberate about capitalisation here.
Rewriting one bullet is easy. Rewriting forty against a specific job posting is the part people give up on. Tailor CV rewrites your resume against the posting you are actually applying to, and you edit what it gives back.
