Resume wording
On a resume "promote" is ambiguous in the worst way: it reads as either marketing something or being moved up a level, and a recruiter skimming cannot tell which you mean. It also hides the mechanism, so nobody learns what you actually did.
These are not interchangeable. Picking the wrong one is how a bullet ends up claiming something you did not do, so the second column matters more than the first.
Before
Promoted the new onboarding flow to internal teams.
After
Drove adoption of a new onboarding flow across 6 teams, lifting completion from 41% to 78% in one quarter.
The verb is the smaller half of that change. What actually makes the second version work is the number, and no synonym can supply one for you.
Keep "promoted" when you are describing your own promotion in the title line. "Promoted to Senior Analyst (2025)" is clear, standard, and should not be reworded.
Rewriting one bullet is easy. Rewriting forty against a specific job posting is the part people give up on. Tailor CV rewrites your resume against the posting you are actually applying to, and you edit what it gives back.
