Resume wording
"Problem-solving skills" is on a majority of resumes, which makes it invisible. It also describes a category of work rather than any particular problem, so it survives no follow-up question.
These are not interchangeable. Picking the wrong one is how a bullet ends up claiming something you did not do, so the second column matters more than the first.
Before
Strong problem-solving skills.
After
Root-caused a checkout failure affecting 3% of orders, traced to a timezone bug in the promo engine, and shipped the fix in two days.
The verb is the smaller half of that change. What actually makes the second version work is the number, and no synonym can supply one for you.
Keep the phrase only where a job posting uses it verbatim and you are mirroring language for ATS matching. Even then, prove it in a bullet nearby.
Rewriting one bullet is easy. Rewriting forty against a specific job posting is the part people give up on. Tailor CV rewrites your resume against the posting you are actually applying to, and you edit what it gives back.
